The president of Pharbest Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Mr. Munir M. Islam, established the first successful enterprises in 1983 in Bangladesh. Far along, the Bikalpa Friends Pharmaceutical Corp. went into production in 1986. In 1989, Mr. Islam began his journey towards his vision to become a contributing member of society and the world of medicine. He continued his education and became a registered pharmacist (RpH). In 2000 he extended his vision by establishing a retail pharmacy in a middle-income neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, and earned the reputation as a contributor to the neighborhood by opening a new medical center joined with the pharmacy in 2005. He put together a small group of devoted individuals, headed by his trusted associate Tom Summers.

On August 18, 2004, he launched his plans, and a site was located for a new corporation. Architectural drawings were submitted for approval, permits were applied for, and obtained. Construction began on September 8, 2004, at 14 Engineers Lane in Farmingdale, L.I., New York on a 20,000 sq-foot pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. With the establishment of Pharbest Pharmaceuticals Corporation, he was a step closer to his vision.
